One Direction, the world’s biggest boy band, has many fans. To
prove it, just look at their social media pages. Starting with Twitter, each
boy alone has over ten million followers and combined with the band account
they have over eighty five million followers. It doesn't stop there, on
Facebook they have over twenty million likes and on Instagram, about three
million followers. This shouldn't come as a surprise; most of their fans are
tweens, kids who grew up in the technology age. Directioners as they are called,
follow the boys on twitter in the hopes of getting noticed or if they are lucky,
maybe even a follow. On Facebook as well as Twitter, the One Direction account
has weekly even daily online scavenger hunts and other games focused on making
sure that the fans feel connected to the boys. So, it's safe to say that their digital
brand is pretty successful, fans know that they can count on these accounts to
give them information about the latest album, tour dates, and anything else
they want to know. One suggestion I would make is to maybe have the boys post
more as opposed to their management, some fans have a lack of trust in who is
actually tweeting and posting. Check out the One Direction Twitter account! https://twitter.com/onedirection
